Rent: Seasons tree

(no subject)

* One of the hazards of being in a smallish fandom ([info]bandslashmania has 1,711 members, [info]jb_fic has 261 [hilariously, [info]easy_academy has 268 members... I'm not really sure how that works but it's awesome].) is that there is not fic CONSTANTLY and you can't be nearly as picky about the pairings you'll read/re-read. Or, you can, but you will spend a lot of time twiddling your thumbs and waiting for something interesting to happen. Bandom totally spoiled me, but it's also been slowish lately. Is something up? Are people gearing up for Nano and [info]yuletide already?

Speaking of [info]yuletide, depending on the categories, I am thinking I will sign up this year. Since apparently I can only write/complete challenges if I'm writing for someone. I've been sucking at forcing myself to write for a couple of years. I think it's that vicious circle of not having ideas and then not getting ideas thing. The last fandom I wrote really regularly for was RENT, and that was mostly because [info]speed_rent kind of forced me. The fact that I was prolific in Veronica Mars was entirely the fault of [info]sexycereal and how much time we spent on AIM hand-holding and writing at each other. Last fall-ish, [info]siren_mage got me telling her stories over AIM and text, but I didn't get most of them past chatfic readability. Those are probably the next things to go up at [info]incendiarywits, I seem to be having trouble letting go of Panic! on the Titanic...

* I just lost a few hours to Cute Overload and then wanting a pet hedgehog. They are WRETCHEDLY cute. Also illegal in California, but, that's probably a good thing for me.

* Speaking of California, I feel like Southern California might be the most fannishly barren part of the country. It seems like people in other places manage to meet up way more easily. I am desperate for fannish contact so I'm planning fly to Seattle next month (Southwest is having a sale) to make grabby hands at my and [info]murgatrude. NEED fangirls and flail and squee and snuggles. NEED.

* KICKBALL. So, remember the time my favorite thing about the Jonas Brothers was their softball team? Well now that softball season is over, they have a KICKBALL team. Complete with uniforms. I feel it is safe to lay all blame for this at the feet of young Nicholas Jonas.

* Here is contact stuff, should anyone ever want to randomly IM me (yes please!) or follow me on twitter.

Rent: Seasons tree

not a boring pop song, and I'm pretty sure no one's singing along

So today, one of the things [info]sparly and I did was went to the pet store to pet the bunnies. Because I'm six.

And I found a bunny named Marshmellow (and by "named Marshmellow" I actually mean "who I named Marshmellow" because I'm six) who had crazy fur and was kind of gray-ish like he'd been dropped in the ashes. He was pretty cool. Then [info]sparly wandered off, to, I think, see if they had any kittens, because kittens are almost as awesome as bunnies.

And there was ANOTHER bunny bin.

Which, awesome, but, not as awesome as, SOME OF THE BUNNIES HAD *EYELINER*. There was a perfectly white bunny with just black around his eyes. We decided he is Pete. And there was another one who looked like Pete who also had marks on his ears and he was Ryan. And there was Brendon curled up in the corner with another bunny, he had brown eyeliner that was kind of messy. He was cuddling with Spencer, who was just kind of there. And there was a tan bunny sitting in the food bowl who was totally awesome. I named him Peanut Butter (I almost always name a bunny Peanut Butter, I don't know why) but once I got to the car I realized he was totally Jon. So his name is really Peanut Butter-Jon.

I'd say this all made more sense when it was happening, but, truthfully not so much.

Also I learned that Jon is [info]sparly's least favorite Panic! member. This is not on at all. And our favorites lists are exactly opposite. Hers is Ryan, Spencer, Brendon, Jon and mine is Brendon, Jon, Ryan, Spencer. Possibly our friendship is over. But not really.

...Did I mention I'm slightly allergic to rabbits? My face kind of itches now. But, Marshmellow! Peanut Butter! Pete!

In conclusion, I totally almost bought 6 rabbits today.

Depending on your taste, either this:

or this:

is the cutest thing ever.

(Or, if you're REALLY twisted you may have decided that the grey-ish otter is Ryan and the darker one is Brendon and that makes the whole otter thing DOUBLY adorable.)
